  • Q: Can I backup different files or folders at a time?
    A: Yes. ArkBackup allows run multiple projects at the same time. But the multiple tasks of one project, will be run sequentially.
     
  • Q: Is it possible to backup an open file which is in use by another program?
    A: Yes, it is possible if ArkBackup can get the read access to this file. When backing up, ArkBackup will try to read the file and if failed, ArkBackup will ask you to close the related program then retry (See options section for more about it). ArkBackup can't backup the files not accessible for reading (particularly, system files like pagefile.sys, file opened without sharing permission, loaded modules (EXEs and DLLs), etc.).
     
  • Q: What maximum amount of data can I backup?
    A: If you are backing up data to ArkBackup backup archive file (.abkf file), there are almost no limits on file size and the number of files.
     
  • Q: Does the program backup to external hard disks connected via USB and to zip drives?
    A: Yes, ArkBackup supports backup to USB and zip drives and works with them in the same way as with local drives.
     
  • Q: Can the program do a full restore to a blank hard drive?
    A: Yes, ArkBackup can do this. However, the program is not designed for backing up operation system(Windows) files and you cannot use it for restoring the whole operation system.
     
  • Q: Does the program run only if the computer is connected to the Internet?
    A: No. You don't need to be connected to the Internet.
     
  • Q: Does ArkBackup support tape drives?
    A: Sorry, ArkBackup doesn't support tape drives currently.
