ArkBackup - General restore operation
   

Restore operation reads the backed up data in the backup archive file and store them on a specified location - the original location or a new location.

ArkBackup supports to restore three types backup archive created by ArkBackup - ArkBackup archive file (.abkf file), ZIP package and original files/folders.

Restore project

  1. Select a project in the project viewer on the main window, then click on the menu "Project" - "Restore...", or just click on the fourth button on the toolbar .
     
  2. Then the ArkBackup restore window will be shown, it lists all tasks in the tasks bar



    If you have specified same backup target archive for multiple tasks, then they will be listed as one item. Please note, only "Incremental Backup" type tasks can have the same target archive with other tasks.


    And if the backup archive of the task doesn't exist, ArkBackup will ask for it, you need to specify where is the archive, then click on the "Open" button to load it.


     
  3. In the restore operation panel, you can select to full restore all tasks of the project, or just restore the single archive of the selected task, and where you want to restore to - the original location of the backed up files or specify a new location for restoring.

     
  4. Then click on "Restore" button to restore data. Then all up-to-date data in the backup archive will be restored. If there are multiple "version" copies for one source file in this archive, only the up-to-date one will be restored to destination.

Restore backup archive

You also can open an ArkBackup archive file (.abkf file) to view and restore it. Just click on the menu "File" - "Open" to do so. But by this way can only restore .abkf archive. More about this, please refer to the section "Restore ArkBackup (.abkf) archive".
